Ph.D. (Data Science)

The PhD in Data Science at NMIMS Nilkamal School of Mathematics, Applied Statistics & Analytics (NSoMASA) is designed for scholars and researchers aiming to make significant contributions in artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data analytics, and computational intelligence. The program provides an opportunity to conduct cutting-edge research in data-driven methodologies and real-world applications.

With a focus on deep learning, reinforcement learning, natural language processing, and predictive modeling, this program equips students with the expertise to tackle modern challenges in industries such as healthcare, finance, cybersecurity, and business analytics.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the following requirements to apply:

• A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or equivalent programs from a recognized university.
• A minimum of 55% aggregate marks (or equivalent grade in the UGC 7-point scale).
• Must qualify in any of the following:
• NMIMS PhD entrance test
• NET / SET / GATE / JRF examination (Valid score required)
• Candidates qualifying in NET / SET / GATE / JRF are exempted from the NMIMS entrance test but must appear for a personal interview.

Duration & Intake

• Duration: Minimum 3 years and Maximum 6 years, including coursework.
• Intake: 10 Seats.
